Epson Teams Up With D-Photo

Joshua Windsor recently entered D-Photo’s photography competition and won an Epson Artisan 1430 plus a GoPro Hero3 White Edition. Here’s the story behind his winning photograph:

I chose to enter because I am a regular reader of D-Photo and was alerted to the competition through their website. I also tend to do most of my photography over summer when I am less tied down with other pursuits. Hence, I had plenty of images to choose from

The photo was taken on the slopes of Mt Ruapehu. My friends and I camped there for a couple of days during a rock-climbing trip. It was a very exposed and dusty spot to pitch our tents!

When we went to bed it was heavily overcast. If it hadn’t been for nature calling in the early hours of the morning I would have missed this sight. Emerging from my tent, the clouds had completely dissipated and I was stunned by the luminosity of the stars. I spent the next hour taking photos.

I have indeed used Epson printers before. We have one at my place of work (Auckland War Memorial Museum), and use it to create high quality archival prints. I have been very impressed with the results.
