Variable Sized Droplet Technology
One of the many long-standing advantages afforded to users of Epson photographic printers is Variable Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT) - a feature carried through to the Stylus Photo R2880. Achieved through a combination of advanced MicroPiezo print head and printer driver technologies, VSDT provides the Stylus Photo R2880 with the ability to vary - with incredible accuracy - the size of ink droplets.
With maximum sized droplets used in areas of solid colour, VSDT contributes significantly to the printer's high speed print capabilities. In contrast, for print areas where there are subtle tonal gradations and fine detail, the technology delivers ink droplets as small as 3 picolitres. Ultimately, it represents the ability to achieve high speed and high quality prints without compromise.
