Epson goes big and bright in dye-sublimation
Launches two new high performance 64" dye sublimation printers, one with fluorescent Ink

AUCKLAND, 29 October 2019 – Epson New Zealand has launched the 64-inch SureColor F9460 for dye-sublimation. The new model comes in two versions: one a traditional 4-colour version, and the other a 6-colour variant with fluorescent ink. Designed for textile and soft signage production, these models build on the success of the F-Series with greater flexibility and a lower running cost.

SureColor-F9460H with fluorescent ink support

The SC-F9460 has been developed for fast, high-volume production and supports production speeds up to 90 m2/hr with dual PrecisionCore print heads and a large bulk ink system. It supports media rolls up to 45kg and features a high precision auto take-up for fast and efficient roll-to-roll printing.

The standard 4-colour configuration has dual ink tanks with a total capacity of 12L. It uses advanced UltraChrome HDk DS ink which is applied with Epson Precision Dot Technology to enable superior imaging with a colour gamut and gradation that is equal or better than systems that employ six or more inks. Colour is brighter, blacks are blacker and tones are finer.

The high colour 6-colour configuration has an additional two fluorescent inks (yellow and pink) for an increased total tank capacity of 15L. The additional inks facilitate production of images with extremely vivid colour. Developed in the Epson laboratories, they feature enhanced brightness and durability. While particularly suited to sportswear and workwear, they also have signage applications including banners, bunting, promotional shades, front and backlit displays.

With the SC-F9460 Epson has put focus on productivity and running cost. Production is supported at very high speed with maximum precision and minimum ink consumption. Both configurations are easy to set up and can be operated from a standard amperage power supply. They ship complete with Epson Edge Print and Epson Accounting software and they support a wide range of sublimation media with downloadable EMX files for rapid configuration. The tank systems are easy to fill and can even be pre-emptively ‘topped up’ using large 1L and 1.1L ink bags. Advanced auto cleaning ensures maintenance is minimal. While competitors employ printheads that require regular replacement, these do not and the machines are backed with a comprehensive warranty complete with on-site service that can be extended to five years.

The SC-F9460 has been designed to have a positive effect on the bottom line of any business involved in textile production. The new model has retained many of the key design elements from previous four generations of F-series. It’s these tried and tested technologies that have allowed Epson to drive innovation in the industry and increase opportunities for businesses.
