Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a fantastic product & software is very easy to use. I have just started to go through all my old photos, slides, negatives (both color and B&W) and large format images. I am using Epson Scan to do the job. Wow Am I Impressed. First how easy it is and secondly what a beautiful job it has done. It has been exciting to see the past come back to life and appreciative of the flexibility the software gives me to do the job.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing so far Purchase V800 scanner 8 days ago, It initially worked well. Installed ok, scanned photos at various resolutions. Scanned color negs once. Since then - nothing. It does not work any more. Have reinstalled software, updated drivers. completely uninstalled and reinstalled. Still nothing. After spending a day trying to get it to work again with no success I am very, very, very unhappy. My current experience is very underwhelming. I am hoping the support team may be able to help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great tool for the digital darkroom and archives. This scanner is more versatile than my old Nikon V. It also has equal or better specs. Putting all these scanning media options together in a flatbed is real bang for buck! One criticism.. and it isn't aimed specifically at Epson.. The majority of my most valuable work is B&W negative based. And it is still expensive to get a user friendly (or auto) digital dust and scratch removal tool. SilverFast have a couple on offer. But their easiest to use and most effective version is only available with their top of the line package of scanner related software.. no doubt to maximise a return for developing it. But this tech. should really be made available in any reputable scanning software for traditional B&W media.. as ICE is these days for traditional colour media.
