Sydney April 2014: Epson Australia has released the SureColor SC-F2000 direct-to-garment (DTG) printer in two desktop configurations for rapid, reliable and cost-effective value-add printing on cotton based clothing and merchandise products.
The SC-F2000 features Epson’s latest PrecisionCore ™ high speed thin film piezo (TFP) print head and has been engineered by Epson from the ground up to deliver superior performance, image quality, reliability, and durability.
With the ability to print directly onto a wide range of fabric based products up to 25mm thick – from t-shirts and hoodies to jackets and carry bags, made from high quality 100 percent cotton to 50/50 fabric blends – the SureColor SC-F2000 printer offers a high degree of production flexibility.
With its high quality output and low running costs it provides line extension opportunities to clothing and merchandise manufacturers, prototyping opportunities for clothing designers and value add opportunities to event organisers, print shops and retailers.
The SC-F2000 uses Epson UltraChrome® DG ink technology – an all new, direct-to-garment ink formulation developed specifically for the Epson PrecisionCore print head in the SC-F2000 – that produces precise and repeatable performance, outstanding image quality, and high reliability.
UltraChrome DG Ink is an Epson-exclusive water-based pigment CMYK and CMYK + White ink technology that is available in 250ml cartridges for small volume custom work and large 600 ml cartridges for low-cost-per print volume production.
UltraChrome DG Ink produces a significantly enhanced colour range with high brightness, and is formulated for easy fixing with a durable low tack finish. The PrecisionCore print head provides improved resolution and enhanced reliability with precise dot sizing and placement for accurate colour with minimal bleed and low ink consumption.
Epson’s integrated approach to development of the hardware and ink technology not only ensures exceptional image quality with predictable consistent colour, but also gives enhanced mechanical durability with a reduced maintenance burden to cut operational costs. The system is quick to install, easy to operate and unlike many other solutions in the market, comes with a manufacturer’s warranty.
Prints can be made on pre-cut material or directly onto a finished garment with a heat press then used to fix the ink, enabling production of customised and value-added goods with high impact and good wash/wear durability.
The Epson SureColor SC-F2000 can be purchased in a high-speed 4 colour (CMYK) configuration or a 5 colour configuration with additional white ink for enhanced presentation on light coloured material as well as support for printing on dark or coloured fabrics.
Features of the Epson SureColor SC-F2000 DTG printers:
The Epson SureColor SC-F2000 DTG is RRP $22,995AUD ex tax for either the 4 or 5 colour configuration with a one year on-site warranty. The five colour configuration comes with a bonus 20L pack of concentrated pre-treatment liquid along with an applicator tool ($800 added value).
Optional 1 and 2 Year Service Pack is available for customers who want to protect their investment for a period of up to 3 years.
The five colour Epson pigment inks used in the Epson SureColor SC-F2000 series printers, when applied to cotton fabrics, pass the requirements of the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 for human ecological requirements of Class I products for adults, children, and babies up to 36 months. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 specifies testing criteria for the presence of harmful substances within a textile product. The standard belongs to the International Association for Research and Testing in the field of Textile Ecology (Oeko-Tex).
