Apart from the Epson PerfectPicture Imaging System and AcuPhoto Halftoning technologies, the Epson Stylus COLOUR 1520 features a total of 64 dedicated Micro Dot nozzles for each colour ink, and 128 for black ink - roughly triple and double the number of nozzles in its predecessor, the Epson Stylus COLOR 1500.
Networking the Epson Stylus COLOR 1520 is achieved by installing an optional Ethernet interface card, which enables the printer to be accessed by both Macintosh and Windows systems. This accessibility is enhanced by the printer's dual (serial and parallel) interfaces for the Macintosh.
Even in CAD applications, the Epson Stylus COLOR 1520 can be used by installing the Epson Plot! printing utility for Windows, which enables the printer to print HP-GL and HP-GL/2 files.
In desktop publishing applications, the Epson Stylus COLOR 1520 provides the means of printing to A2 and SuperA3/B sized paper, with a maximum printable width of 345 mm.
