Rated 4 out of 5 by from Makes a constant clicking sound when the printer is off! Print quality is good - as expected. However, when the printer is off but connected to the power outlet, there is a constant faint clicking sound emitting from the front of the printer. Needs to be turned off at the power outlet to stop the clicking. Tested other Epson XP-8500 printers at the store of purchase by their technical staff and they all exhibit the same clicking noise. Also tried different power outlets with no difference. The printer also makes an annoying soft high pitched whine after printing when idle. It quietens down when it goes to sleep. Then the clicking will occur when the printer is switched off using the front power button. My previous Epson printer made no noise when it was switched off.
