1. Since I upgraded to macOS 11, I can no longer use my product's software because the software icon is crossed out. What should I do?
2. I can no longer select some of my printer's features on my Mac since I upgraded to macOS 11. What should I do?
3. Epson Scan or Epson Scan 2 does not work since I upgraded to macOS 11. What should I do?
4. I see the message Missing USB class driver when I try to print with a USB connection. What should I do?
5. I see the message Upgrade to AirPrint when I try to print. Should I upgrade my software?

Solve a Problem
1. Since I upgraded to macOS 11, I can no longer use my product's software because the software icon is crossed out. What should I do?
 

Update or reinstall the Epson software for your product. To update the software, use Epson Software Updater.

To reinstall the software, do the following:

  1. Go to the Epson Support page and select your product.
  2. Select macOS 11 in the Operating System drop-down box, if necessary.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Download and install the Drivers and Utilities Combo Package for your product.
    • If a Drivers and Utilities Combo Package is not available for your product, download and install the software in the Recommended For You section.

If you cannot use the software after installing the latest version, contact Epson Support.

2. I can no longer select some of my printer's features on my Mac since I upgraded to macOS 11. What should I do?
 

If you selected Upgradewhen the Upgrade to AirPrint recommended message appeared, the Apple AirPrint driver was configured as your default printer driver. To use the Epson software again, delete your printer's print queue on your Mac, and then reinstall the Epson software. Do the following:

  1. Select the menu > System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select your printer, then click to remove the printer queue.
  3. Go to the Epson Support page and search for your product.
  4. Select macOS 11 in the Operating System drop-down box, if necessary.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • Download and install the Drivers and Utilities Combo Package for your product.
    • If a Drivers and Utilities Combo Package is not available for your product, download and install the software in the Recommended For You section.

If you cannot use the Epson software after following the steps above, contact Epson Support.

3. Epson Scan or Epson Scan 2 does not work since I upgraded to macOS 11. What should I do?
 

Update or reinstall Epson Scan 2. To update the software, use Epson Software Updater. To reinstall the software, do the following:

  1. Go to the Epson Support page and select your product.
  2. Select macOS 11 in the Operating System drop-down box, if necessary.
  3. Download and install the Scanner Driver and Epson Scan 2 Utility for your product.

Note: Epson Scan is not supported in macOS 11. You can use Apple's Image Capture software instead. To use Image Capture, install Epson's ICA Scanner Driver for Image Capture. Go to the Downloads tab on your product's support page, and download and install the ICA Scanner Driver for Image Capture.

4. I see the message Missing USB class driver when I try to print with a USB connection. What should I do?
 •Update the Epson printer driver for your product to version macOS 10.85 or later and update your Mac to macOS 11.1 or later.

5. I see the message Upgrade to AirPrint when I try to print. Should I upgrade my software?
 

Epson recommends you select Never Upgrade to continue using the Epson driver with your product. This option will ensure that all your product’s features are available in the software. If you select Upgrade, your product will use the Apple AirPrint driver instead.

Note: This message appears when macOS 11 detects that the Epson driver is being used.
