Business Systems Warranty - NZ


Definitions

In this warranty:

  • "Act" means the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 as amended
  • "Back to Base" means where delivery to and collection of your product from the Service Agent is your responsibility.
  • "Consumables" include (without limitation) ink cartridges, toner cartridges, paper, transfer belts and fusers.
  • "Epson New Zealand" means Epson Australia Pty Ltd, trading as Epson New Zealand.
  • "Factory Second" means a Product sold by Epson New Zealand as a second.
  • "Genuine" means manufactured by or for a member of the SEIKO-Epson group of companies
  • "Product" means a Genuine product supplied new by Epson New Zealand.
  • "Purchase Date" means the date of first purchase from Epson New Zealand's website or a Stockist
  • "Service Agent" means an authorised Epson New Zealand Service Agent
  • "Stockist" means a dealer, reseller or retailer
  • "You" means the End User and "your" has a corresponding meaning.
  • "Back to Base" is where you pay for delivery to and collection of your Product from a Service Agent.
  • "Consumable" includes (without limitation) ink cartridges, toner cartridges, ribbon cartridges, paper, transfer belts and fusers.


Introduction
Subject to these conditions, Epson New Zealand offers this Warranty on a Product to which Back to Base service applies.


This Warranty applies in addition to the warranties implied by the Act.


Epson New Zealand warrants that your Product will be free from any defect in materials or workmanship for one (1) year (or, in case of a Factory Second, for six (6) months) after your Purchase Date. Certain products carry a longer warranty period. Refer to the table below for the warranty periods for these specific models.

Four (4) years (or, in case of a Factory Second, for six (6) months) after your Purchase Date


TM-T70II-DT, TM-T70-i, TM-T70, TM-T70II & TM-T88 ReStick

Three (3) years (or, in case of a Factory Second, for six (6) months) after your Purchase Date


TM-P60II, TM-P60II Label, TM-P80, TM-P20, TM-H6000IV, TM-U220, TM-T20, TM-T81 & TM-T82II, TM-m30


Two (2) years (or, in case of a Factory Second, for six (6) months) after your Purchase Date


All other models

One (1) year (or, in case of a Factory Second, for six (6) months) after your Purchase Date


For the Power Supply and Interface card for all models, the warranty period is one (1) year (or, in case of a Factory Second, for six(6) months) after your Purchase Date.


The warranty does not cover Options and Consumables.


Software, including operating systems and software added by Epson through our configuration process, third party software, or the reloading of software are not covered by Epson warranty.


At its discretion, Epson New Zealand will either repair or replace your Product, if it is found on inspection by Epson or a Service Agent to have any such defect within the relevant warranty period.


A Stockist who sells a Product to you has no authority from Epson New Zealand to give you any additional warranty or guarantee in relation to your Product or to make any statement (other than what is contained in the Specifications) about:

  1. a Product's performance or fitness for any specific purpose; or
  2. the currency or application of any Marketing Initiative.


Epson New Zealand will not be liable for any consequential loss or damage claimed to arise from your use of the Product. In particular (but without limitation) Epson New Zealand will not be liable for actual or expected revenue loss or for any corruption or loss of data claimed to arise from your use of the Product.


Warranty Claim Procedure
If you wish to make a claim under this Express Warranty, you must do the following:

  • Call Epson New Zealand’s Contact Centre on 0800 237766 to notify them of your claim;
  • Return the Product, as far as possible in its original packaging, to a Service Agent, whose location will be advised by Epson New Zealand’s Contact Centre; and
  • Provide a copy of your purchase receipt, or other reasonably acceptable evidence of your Purchase Date, to show that this Express Warranty applies to your Product at the date of your claim.

You will be required to pay the cost of delivering your Product to and collecting your Product from Epson New Zealand (or a Service Agent) for Express Warranty service.


Warranty Application
This Warranty applies only:

  1. To a Product sold to You by an Epson New Zealand or by a Stockist;
  2. You have not bought the Product for resale.

Warranty Exclusions
This Warranty will not apply if any of the following occurs in relation to your product during the applicable warranty period stated above:

  1. A Product's serial number or any rating label is removed or changed in any way;
  2. A Product is serviced or repaired by anyone other than by an authorised Service Agent;
  3. You use a Product contrary to the technical or operating environment guidelines recommended in the Epson Australia user guide or manual;
  4. You fail to follow recommended maintenance procedures and/or intervals set out in the Product’s user guide or manual.
  5. A component part of your Product reaches the end of its service life; or
  6. A Product's malfunction or failure to perform to Epson New Zealand's specifications results from:

  1. deliberate or accidental damage;
  2. neglect or modification by or on behalf of an End User;
  3. normal wear and tear;
  4. the use of incorrect voltage or a power surge; or
  5. your use of any non-genuine consumables, software, replacement parts, accessories or interfacing.

Non-Genuine Items
If you use non-Genuine Consumables, software, replacement parts or accessories in or with your Product during the relevant warranty period, you may damage the Product and may consequently invalidate this Warranty.
